The Telecaster is known for its ability to produce both bright, rich, cutting tone or a mellow, warm, bluesy jazz tone depending on the selected pickup, respectively "bridge" pickup or "neck" pickup, and by adjusting the tone control. Muddy Waters, Joe Strummer, Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Buckley are just a few of the great many who played one of these.
There is nothing like the pure, powerful sound of a Fender tube amp. The Hot Rod Deluxe III is the perfect amp for gigging guitarists with a scorching 40 watt 1x12” It has power and performance to spare, great features and a classic look.
The Ibanez Tube screamer is a classic overdrive pedal for that extra punch when you need it. This is such a great pedal many clones and knock offs have been made. I have even seen the schematic for a clone of this pedal online.
The Rat is just a great distortion pedal. Many versions have been made and many notable musicians have used them including Jeff Beck and Dave Grohl to name a couple.
The Vox Delay lab is the craziest thing here. This thing comes fully loaded. You can get very ambient spacey sounds. There is a reverse effect. You can use it as a looper. It has stereo inputs and outputs. But most of all, it is a tap delay pedal. Which means you tap your foot on a switch to the beat, and whatever delay effect you are running will sync up. This beats the hell out of a regular delay pedal with a knob to adjust the speed.
Elixir Strings are hands down the best strings I have played with. The nano-web coating really does improve the life of the strings. They feel great and it's nice to not always be changing strings.
And I included the Capo because sometimes you absolutely need one for that certain song. 12 bucks for a trigger style capo is not bad.
The above gear will provide endless fun, so get out there and have some fun!
